Bengaluru: Mob lynches Rajasthan man after mistaking him as child trafficker

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 24: The trend of mobs attacking the people they believe to be involved with theft of children and killing them has often been witnessed elsewhere in the country. This mass hysteria seems to have set its foot into Karnataka, going by the killing of a Rajasthan-based youth on the afternoon of Wednesday May 23, causing his death in the bargain.

The members of general public came together to indiscriminately hit Kalooram (26) from Rajasthan near Ranganatha Talkies in Pension Mohalla, Cottonpet here on Wednesday afternoon.

It is said that locals saw that Kalooram was loitering in Pension Mohalla at around 1 pm on Wednesday under suspicious circumstances. People got doubtful about his intentions, caught hold of him, and posed him questions. A few in the crowd chatted among themselves, expressing the possibility of Kalooram being a child thief. As the matter spread, hundreds of people came together. In the guise of questioning the youth, people hit him with whatever they could lay their hands on, like bat, wooden stick and bare hands. When he fell down, he was kicked around, it is said.

A man who witnessed the incident, called the police control room. When the 'Hoysala' vehicle of the police reached the spot, the attackers dispersed, it is gathered. The policemen took Kalooram, who was still breathing, to Victoria Hospital but he breathed his last on the way. The police said that the identity of the deceased was established on the basis of voter identity card found in the shirt pocket of the man.

A case of murder against unknown persons was registered in Chamarajpet police station here relating to the incident.

So sad .God knows what he was doing there or waiting for someone.without knowing the reason, simply catch hold and beat him to death.poor chap,so young.May his soul rest in peace.and the mob ,later has no guts to admit the act.Wish ,the same they could have done to a rapist ,or killer ,but not to a innocent person.Heartfelt sympathy to his family.Who knows his parents,or family is waiting for him there at home. Now this crime .

This is "Talibaanism" without any doubt.
The loopholes in the judiciary lets the criminals walk away, is the main encouragement for the people to take the laws into their own hands.
Who has given them this rights ? to accuse someone ? to judge someone ? to punish someone ?

It may look very funny for you but I request you to understand the reality. South India has been safest place to live until some North Raja's entered the state and influenced people with their culture. You must be watching or reading news almost every day about rape, lynching, murder, etc. but we see very few people protested against it. Now this is entering our state. It may not have direct impact to most of us but we really dont know who will be the victim of these in coming days if this trend continues.

    Ravi,
Did you watched TV channels? Almost all arrested persons are locals. When our people committing we have to accept it rather than blaming some outsiders just because we hate some persons belonging to some political party.

Lynching has become almost a daily matter in our country. Its necessary to identify the people responsible for this and punish them. Its quite shameful that lynchings takes place in 21 st century also.

Everyone is aware who has a stronghold in pension mohalla and cottonpet area. No one has the rights to manhandle a person like this. Where are we headed with this type of attitude.
A black mark on human race. Stop killing innocent people. If they have handed him over to police, they would have handled this situation.

Don't you call this a wave too....!!? It's already blowing in the North!!!. If getting 104 seats we have this situation!, imagine if they form government with majority!!. Did you ever heard these things in 80's and before!? Why!?, simply because, one party started bringing divisions among people for its survival who were otherwise very peaceful and co existed! It started with demolition of Babri Masjid and its only becoming worse by the day!!!. We classmates never had any problem but recently after Modi's becoming CM and now PM, People are talking only religion and each religion taking side with the party and not seeing real religion in temples, churches or Mosques!. Friends are fighting these days and leaving groups and don't talk to each other! Without hesitation, so called friends condemn other religions!. Was it there before!?. No body had any problem with beef eating as everyone(Hindus too) used to sell their useless cattle for slaughter houses and get a new one!. Our neighbours Hindu friends used to ask us to give cooked beef for their children so that they grow strong!. Today nobody wants to rear a cow for fear of life! How will you grow Desi cows if this is the situation!?. See Teddy, he was just talking of banning this banning that, filing of cases on others and withdrawal of cases on the people whom he likes!. Did he ever talk of development and his previous achievements as CM!? Same with Modiji....!!!!.

To set your records right, Karnataka was administered by Governor on 1.00PM yesterday when the incident took place.

Regardless of that, the attitude of various BJP ruled states on mob lynching is responsible for spread of this dangerous trend.

Helpless victims lose their lives due to a perception that the Mob lynching is a Normal means of justice. This has happened in UP, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and now it spread to Karnataka too.
