SSLC : Another Revaluation, Another Topper !

Mysore, May 31:
After N S Aishwarya, the Marimallappa High School student, was declared the topper in SSLC after she was awarded 13 marks during revaluation, Amoolya Lois, has joined Aishwarya at the top in the SSLC examination by scoring 618, the same as Aishwarya.

Previously, Amoolya was in 7th position with a score of 611 marks; with the addition of seven marks after revaluation, she climbed 6 places to become the joint topper.

Not satisfied with her marks in second language English and third language Kannada, Amoolya applied for revaluation.

She was awarded 98 and 99 respectively which took her total to 618.

Previously, she had scored 93 and 97 in English and Kannada languages. Amoolya has scored 100 per cent marks in Sanskrit and Mathematics. She has scored 99 in Science and 97 in Social Science subjects.

Sharon Kiran, Amoolya’s mother, said that her daughter was very confident of emerging as the topper. .

Speaking to The New Indian Express , Amoolya, who has now joined Viyaja Vittala PU College, expressed her desire to become a cardiologist.

She said that it would have been better if the result of her being the topper was announced earlier.

Going by the way new toppers are emerging every few days after revaluation, more might follow Aishwarya and Amoolya’s example.

When asked what profession she would like to persue she immediately replied "I would like to be a cardiologist."

Amulya is the daughter of Kirankumar, senior technician at BEML, and Sharon, residents of Saraswathipuram.

When the results were announced, Amulya of B.M.Sri Vidyavardhaka High School, Kuvempunagar, had secured 611 marks. The marks in English was 93 and in Kannada it was 97.

After revaluation, the English marks rose to 98 and Kannada to 99.

If this happened to toppers, many of the d failed candidates, may not be really failed. Board should compulsorily re-valuate the papers of faled candidates before publishing the results.

How many more top scorers are there, God only knows.... I request the education board revaluation again for a simple reason that.... for your mistakes why parents of the student shall spend money... Why? Have you taken any action on those teachers, who have made mistake in counting marks!! Do those teachers who fail in simple counting command any renumeration? No and Never... They shall suffer for their mistakes..... Why students shall suffer for these stupid teachers mistakes? Why ?? Can we have a good reason..!

Evaluators have been careless in totaling/evaluating the marks. They need a severe reprimand.

Congratulations, Amoolya, Aishwarya. Re-evaluation reflects very poorly on the Exam Board. Carelessness is too evident. They are playing with the sentiments and future of our children. What happens at lower percentages? How many students failed due to carelessness of others?

Our future exam should be paperless. Every student should be provided with a lap-top with WiFi connection. The Question Paper will down load 5 minutes before the examination into every students lap-top. The main structure of the Answer except the main link work should be loaded as software on every lap-top. The student has to type one or more correct word/s to the Answer & the rest will come to them as options to be filled to complete the Answer. Here the student cannot go ahead without knowing the correct connecting word/s and the rest of the skeleton of the sentence will be pre-programmed inside the lap-top so that the students need not waste in writing the rest of the skeleton of the Answer. All the lap-top will be sealed and collected by the central authority and kept in strong rooms with securities to guard those Answer Paper safe rooms. In this type of examination there will not be any time waste or Question Paper leak. On a stipulated day the computer will correct the answer on the Answer Paper that was fed to the lap-top in the presence of the faculty of all the institutes under that University. The results & the Answer Papers will be made available to all the students on the result day evening through internet service. It’s high time the examination goes high tech.
