Udupi: Officers, staff honoured for solving Vishala Ganiga murder case

Udupi, Sep 23: Officers and staff of police department who were part of the investigation of Vishala Ganiga murder case which was reported under the limits of Brahmavar police station were honoured with cash prizes.

Contract killers had killed Vishala on July 12 at her apartment in Milan Residency at Uppinakote. As the main accused, husband of the deceased, planned the murder meticulously police had a tough time cracking the case.

Investigation team was formed under the leadership of superintendent of police (SP) Vishnuvardhan. After the members of the investigating team arrested Swaminathan Nishad in Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh it came to light that Ramakrishna Ganiga, Vishala’s husband, himself had given contract to murder his wife.

DG and IGP of Karnataka Praveen Sood had announced a cash prize of Rs 50,000 for the team of police personnel who had cracked this difficult case.

IGP western range Devajyoti Ray, who visited the office of the district police on September 23 also gave a cash prize and congratulated the team.

Additional SP Kumarchandra, DySP Sudhakar Nayak, Brahmavar CPI Ananta Padmanabha, Police inspector of Manipal Manjunatha Gowda, CPI Malpe Sharan Gowda, CPI Karkal Sampath Kumar, PSIs Rajshekhar Vandali, Gurunatha Hadimani, Madhu, Sridhar Nayak, Raghavendra, personnel of CDR section Shivananda, Dinesh and Nitin were congratulated by DIG.

    Yes. Police personnel deserve the award. But one confusion. Who is that chap who introduced these UP, Mumbai murderers to Vishala's (RIP) husband? Y he is not caught? In the beginning this topic was stated that one person introduced tese men to Vishala's hubby. Dnt keep ppl in suspension

    Again the true face of UP good job by police too bad they are often misused by politicians. Please remember it was Karnataka SIT team that had caught and exposed the nation wide plot to kill non political opposition personalities like Gauri NOT CBI which had been fruitlessly working the case in multiple states.
