1. Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026

The FCRA amendment bill of 2026 attempts to modify the act related to foreign contributions by providing it with better compliance facilities and a legal framework which can be effectively used to control foreign contributions.

Main objectives of the Bill are,

Efficient monitoring of foreign contributions.

Safeguarding the assets created by foreign contributions.

Ensuring greater transparency and responsibility in the use of foreign contributions.

Keeping away from misuse of foreign funds from abroad.

Establishing a greater security system in the country.

 

2. Hiroshima Day 2026

The theme of Hiroshima Day 2026 will be “Remembrance, Responsibility, and Resilience.”

Hiroshima Day 2026 is set to be observed on August 6, 2026 and it marks the 81st anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima with an atom bomb in the Second World War.

 

3. International Clouded Leopard Day 2026

International Clouded Leopard Day is a day known as National Clouded Leopard Day and takes place on August 4 every year.

It started in 2018 by The Aspinall Foundation and in the same year Howletts Wild Animal Park was the venue of the first celebration of this day.

 

4. Fourth at Commonwealth Games 2026

India completes excellent tournament of Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, Scotland, with a strong total of 39 medals, including 13 gold medals, 17 silver medals and 9 bronze medals, bringing India to a total of place fourth in the overall medal tally.

India Concludes Glasgow 2026 with 39 Medals

India’s final medal count at the Commonwealth Games 2026 was,

Gold: 13
Silver: 17
Bronze: 9
Total: 39 medals

 

5. Glaw Lake

Glaw Lake, situated in Arunachal Pradesh, has been designated as the first Ramsar Site of the state. Consequently, India gains number 101 in Ramsar Sites worldwide.
