Beltangady, May 17: A woman died on the spot in a devastating road accident involving a motorcycle and a car near Kanadikatte in Padangadi in Beltangady taluk on Sunday, May 17.

The deceased has been identified as Shailaja (30), wife of Anil Bhat, proprietor of the well-known Anil Farm in Balanja.

According to reports, Anil Bhat and his wife Shailaja were travelling on a motorcycle after completing work at their farm and were on their way towards their site when the accident occurred near Kanadikatte. Their bike collided with a car, resulting in Shailaja sustaining fatal injuries and succumbing on the spot.

Police rushed to the scene soon after the incident, carried out a preliminary inspection, and registered a case.

Further investigation is under way.
