A family's dreams on hold
Melwyn Lobo is a loving husband to Savita Lobo, a homemaker, and a devoted father to two young school-going children. As a healthy, hardworking individual, he single-handedly bore the responsibility of managing the household and funding his children's education. He held bright dreams for his children’s future and worked tirelessly to build a secure life for them.
A few weeks ago, their lives took a drastic turn when Melwyn suddenly fell severely ill. Following specialized medical examinations, he was diagnosed with an intraparenchymal hemorrhage (a severe brain stroke).
The battle for survival
Melwyn is currently fighting for his life in the medical intensive care unit (MICU) at A J Hospital and Research Centre in Mangaluru. While doctors have assured the family that specialized treatment can save his life and bring him back to normalcy, the medical expenses are staggering. The treatment is estimated to cost over Rs 12 lac, an amount completely out of reach for Melwyn and his family.
