Samastipur, May 17: Dr Deepali Mahto from Samastipur in Bihar has brought immense pride to her hometown by securing the 36th rank in the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025. The results were announced on Friday.

Her remarkable achievement has sparked a wave of joy and pride not only in Rosera town but across the entire district. Dr Deepali is a resident of the Kataharbanni locality in ward number 15 of the Rosera Nagar Parishad. She is the granddaughter of the late Virendra Mahto and the daughter of Sanjay Mahto and Sulekha Mahto.

Family of civil servants

Her father, Sanjay Mahto, previously served in the administrative and police services before retiring from the revenue service. The family's strong background in education and public service had a deeply positive impact on Dr Deepali's journey toward the civil services.

Second consecutive success

This marks Dr Deepali's second consecutive outstanding performance in the UPSC examinations. Last year, she secured the 105th rank and was already undergoing training. With her unwavering dedication, she significantly improved her standing this year to claim the 36th spot.

From dentistry to administration

After completing her early education, Dr Deepali pursued her higher education in Mumbai. She completed her degree in dentistry and even practiced as a dentist. However, despite her successful foray into the medical field, she kept her ultimate goal of joining the civil services alive.

Driven by continuous hard work and firm determination, she successfully cleared one of the toughest examinations in the country. Her achievement is being celebrated as a moment of great honour by the people of Rosera and the wider Samastipur region.
