Recipes - Chicken Vindalu


½ Kg. chicken
6-8 long red chillies
1 tsp. cumin
5 flakes garlic
1 cardamom
½ tsp. turmeric powder
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 small onion (sliced)
¼ cup chopped coriander leaves
1 tbsp. ghee
Salt as per taste
1 potato (cooked and cubed) optional


Grind chillies, cumin, garlic, turmeric powder, cardamom adding vinegar into a fine paste. Heat ghee in a vessel and sauté onion. Add coriander leaves and the masala paste. Fry for few minutes. Add chicken pieces and salt. Mix well. Cover the vessel with a plate and pour some clean water in the plate. Cook covered on slow flame. Keep stirring in between. Add cooked patato when chicken is almost cooked. Add water from the plate if water is required. Cook until chicken is tender.

Serve with steamed rice /rice rotis /sannas.
