Bengaluru: People aiming to disturb harmony are not humans - Siddaramaiah

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 1: "People, who fondly wish that harmony prevailing in society should be disturbed, cannot be treated as humans," said Karnataka chief minister, Siddaramaiah. He was speaking to media persons after taking part in the annual awards ceremony and conferring of the Press Club Person of the Year award, organized by the Press Club here on Sunday December 31.

He was replying to a question about BJP national president, Amit Shah's visit to the state. "Politicians should always wish that peace and harmonious coexistence prevail in the society. They should strive to achieve this goal. If they wish that harmony gets disturbed, in my opinion, they cannot be humans," he stated. In an indirect reference, he said he will not allow people to start fire in Karnataka and if at all they succeed in starting fire, the same would be immediately extinguished.

It is assumed that this statement of Siddaramaiah was directed as MP, Pratap Simha's past statement that had been widely circulated, in which the MP had said that during Shah's visit, the latter wanted to know how many incidents like lathi charge and torching had happened in the state.

Before that, the chief minister, who accepted the 'Press Club Person of the Year' award, stated that one should always understand that some other's life is as precious and valuable as his own. Only then a healthy society can be built. People who hate others cannot be treated as humans. People who take birth in the world should make efforts to struggle out of narrow-mindedness and emerge at a citizen of the entire world, he felt.

Siddaramaiah noted that constitution is secular and an elected government is vested with the responsibility to implement it. Those who behave against the aspirations of the constitution are not fit to become people's representatives. Following principles of casteism is against the constitution, he said, in an apparent reference to certain politicians.

The chief minister said that the constitution stresses on the need to follow human values and stressed that imbibing these values in one's life cannot be termed as crime. He said that Dr Ambedkar had drafted this constitution out of his own experiences and there can be nothing better than this or that which is against its tenets. He felt that lower classes living with self respect are being seen as arrogance on their part whereas higher castes living like this is termed as dignified living. He said he is aware that many people think him to be arrogant and idiot but added that being from a village, he cannot get rid of this quality, which has been inherited by him being a villager.

In the context CM Siddaramaiah statement is true.
The classic example from Rajasthan Horrific beyond words 50 years old Muslim labourer having grandchildrens from West Bengal who was hacked with a cleaver and then set on fire in Rajasthan by a man who has now been identified as one Shambhu Lal Regar, a resident of Rajsamand, over a suspected case of 'love jihad'.
The murder accused who has having illicit relation(Most of the mass media self censored) was given legal assistance by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh .
The year 2017 recorded the highest death toll (11 deaths) and the most number of incidents of hate violence (37 incidents) related to cows and religion since 2010, according to an IndiaSpend database that records cow-related hate crime.

A chronological look at hate crimes reported through the year show number and intensity rising through the year. Here are 4 incidents that came to define 2017.
    1. April 2017, Rajasthan: Pehlu Khan (55).
    2. June 2017, Delhi: Junaid Khan (16).
    3. August 2017, Bengal: Anwar Hussain (19) and Hafizul Sheikh (19)
    4. December 2017, Rajasthan: Mohammad Afrazul (45)

In the year 2016 there are 278 Communal Clashes Across India In 5 Months. India witnessed 751 communal clashes in 2015, up from 644 in 2014, according to home ministry data. But if you believe data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB)–a home ministry subsidiary–there were 1,227 riots in 2014.
“This videotaping of lynchings in India converts this hate crime into a public spectacle, a public entertainment,”. “You’re putting out a new kind of video-game reality show. It’s so terrifying because it reflects what we are becoming as a society.”
To prevent a cycle of revenge and violence, it is crucial for the state to respond immediately to establish the rule of law, and insist that any provocation or suspicion be handled by the criminal justice system and not through mob justice.
India's disturbing communal incidents data show Modi's center has failed.

Let every body strictly follow their religion in fully ,Harmony will prevail itself. We are not reading or learning from direct source listing from Swamis / Priests /Imams & start fighting each other in the name of religion.Every religion teaches Good & says we are all born from one father & mother if agree the scriptures we are all brother in relation.

Respect all the faiths live a good life. Stop hating others . Educate our religion/ community people based on the scriptures all the problems will solve. If any one not satisfied about the their scriptures give them free to choose other scriptures still we can live in peace & harmony.

if you go through the history, our country was divided based on religion & Pakistan, Bangladesh created. in Karnataka hinda & ahinda politics started based on caste, again kuruba caste politics. recently ligayath, veerashaiva religion issue started. I think the above are also comes under divide & rule system. I don't know to whom we need to blame for the above. we need to check with siddaramayya only since he wants harmony.

Siddaramaiah will prove to be a dark horse in karnataka politics. As a chief minister he has managed to remain humble and accommodated everyone.
Surviving full term itself was a challenge in Karnataka until now.

One should win elections by constructive works and not by destructive works. Arrival of any one should result in positive things and make the people and families happy and not the other way if there is unrest and violence as is the agenda of some political parties to win election.

Sidduji, your own party workers are attacking the policemen on duty. So who is disturbing harmony. Clean your own backyard first before giving statements. Historically divide and rule based on caste and religion is Congress agenda to win election.

couple of observations here. first thing, in kannada there is a quote... "Kaamaale kanninaunige yella haladi haladi kanuthe" .... in tulu they say "manjal seekudaayag poora manjal manjal thojundge".... it's like that. Key reason for harmony disturbance in society is Congress and their "divide and rule" policy. That's the only key strategy of their Vote bank. So, it's keep this subject away as Siddanna is a wrong person to talk about... one more observation. why Prakash Rai joins Siddaramiah and congress events so regularly.... earlier he was not seen... now after that Gowri incident and his involvement in disturbing harmony of the society with some stupid comments.... now he is a regular companion of Siddu... May be that was the hidden agenda.
