Recipes - Prawns Curry (Hinga Udak)

Ingredients:

1 kg. prawns (big)
½ scrapped coconut
7-8 red short chillies
2 red long chillies
Small ball of tamarind ( ¼ lime sized)
1 pepper sized piece of Asafetida (Hing)
1 tbsp. coconut oil
Salt as per taste

Method:

Shell, de -vein and clean the prawns. Grind coconut along with chillies and tamarind, adding little water into a very smooth paste.  In a vessel add this paste and enough water to have a curry consistency. Boil this curry adding salt as per taste. Add prawns and cook until soft. (You may cook the prawns separately and add to the boiling curry). Now add asafetida water. Mix well and remove from fire. Pour the coconut oil over the curry and serve hot with steamed rice.
