Udupi: Man pushed into well over financial matter, found dead

Udupi, Feb 14: A person, who had to retrieve Rs 2,500 from another, pushed him into a well and killed him.

Sunil Shetty, had come to the residence of Basava Naik (54), resident of Heggunje village, Brahmavar and asked to send out Basava Naik’s son Manoj as he has to ask for repayment of Rs 2,500 lent by him to Manoj. Sunil further said that Manoj has not repaid the money even after two years. “He does not respond to telephone calls or does not meet,” he said.

Manoj who was sleeping in the house came out saying that he has to brush his teeth. However Sunil Shetty who followed him has allegedly pushed him in the well and killed him, stated Radhabai(54), mother of Manoj in her police complaint lodged in Brahmavar police station. Sunil Shetty has fled saying that Manoj fell in the well. A case under section 302 IPC is registered in Brahmavar police station.
