Mangaluru: 25 injured including 14 students in bus collision at Surathkal

Mangaluru, July 2: As many as 25 people, including two drivers and 14 students, sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two buses at Madya in Surathkal on Wednesday, July 2.

According to sources, one of the buses was travelling from Madya towards Chelyaru when another bus, reportedly being driven on the wrong side in a negligent manner, rammed into it. The impact of the collision left several passengers injured, with four of them suffering serious injuries.

The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Both students and regular commuters were among the affected passengers.

A case in connection with the accident has been registered at the Mangaluru North traffic police station, and investigations are underway.
