Bantwal, May 27: A member of a mosque committee here lodged a police complaint at Bantwal rural police station against three members of old committee alleging misuse of funds of Minority Welfare department meant for construction of Shadi Mahal in the mosque.

The complaint is lodged by Kukkaje Mohiuddin Juma Masjid, Manchi village, Bantwal member Abdul Razak Ira against old committee members Ismael, Mohammed Rafik and P K Hasainar.

The complaint states that an amount of Rs 50 lac was released from Minority Welfare department for construction of Shadi Mahal, Kukkaje Mohiuddin Juma Masjid, Manchi village, Bantwal. Old committee members Ismael, Mohammed Rafik and P K Hasainar forged the seal and signature of Dakshina Kannada district panchayat assistant engineer, withdrew Rs 25 lac out of Rs 50 lac after submitting forged documents and misused the amount.

A case in this connection is registered at Bantwal rural police station. Investigation is in progress.
