Mangaluru, Nov 12: From November 14 to December 22, Early Learning Centre (ELC) and Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) will come alive with science, stories, songs, history, and traditions as part of their annual festival celebrations under the theme ‘Connected Wisdom – Living Stories, Living Systems’.
The festival is built around a simple yet powerful idea — that stories shape narratives, science and heritage carry the wisdom of generations, and literature bridges worlds by connecting people, places, and ideas across time.

This year’s month-long celebration will feature authors, folk artistes, musicians, and professionals from diverse fields, including Roopa Pai, Priya Muthukumar, Chandini Chhabra, Mamatha Rai, Nandita Jayaraj, Praveen Alva, Swati Bhat, Amrita Shah, Nester Fernandes, Janardhan Havanje, and others. Together, they will bring a vibrant mix of perspectives through storytelling, discussions, performances, and hands-on workshops.
In association with the Mangalore Heritage Group, the festival will also curate a special series of sessions for students and educators, offering unique opportunities to explore the region’s living traditions, crafts, and natural heritage through interactive learning experiences.
The event will be inaugurated by Darshan K V, IAS, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, on November 14 at the ELC campus.
Ramachandra Hebbar, general manager and Scientist ‘G’ at the Regional Remote Sensing Centre – South, National Remote Sensing Centre (ISRO), will inaugurate Makers’ Fete, the festival’s flagship science event, on December 7. Makers’ Fete is an annual celebration of innovation and creativity — a day where curiosity and craftsmanship meet hands-on learning.
Beyond the strong academic programs that nurture curiosity and scientific thinking, CFAL and ELC have, over the years, created a tradition of celebrating creativity through annual festivals. After hosting a Literature Festival in 2023 and a Heritage Festival in 2024 in collaboration with the district administration, this year’s event brings the best of both worlds together — literature and heritage — inspiring scientific spirit among the wider community.
The festival will feature a rich array of weekly events, with some sessions open to the public and others designed exclusively for students. Activities will include author interactions, math and science workshops, traditional art and craft sessions, storytelling, nature explorations, performances, panel discussions, and interactive conversations.
