Tehran, Jun 17: High-resolution satellite images released by Maxar Technologies have revealed widespread destruction at key Iranian military and nuclear facilities, as hostilities between Israel and Iran raged into the fifth consecutive day.
The images, dated June 15, capture the aftermath of Israeli airstrikes on several strategic Iranian sites, including missile and electronics facilities in Shiraz, Kermanshah, Bid Kaneh, and the Natanz nuclear enrichment plant. These visuals offer rare insights from within the Islamic Republic, where media and internet access remain restricted.

The ongoing military confrontation began after Israel launched what it called a ‘preemptive’ strike last Friday, alleging Iran’s covert pursuit of nuclear weapons a claim Tehran continues to deny, insisting its programme is for peaceful purposes.
“The IDF is currently striking surface-to-surface missile sites in central Iran,” Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesman Nadav Shoshani said on X, confirming the strikes.
Satellite imagery from Kermanshah shows heavy structural damage at a missile base operated by Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), with destroyed buildings and debris littering the site. Tunnels believed to house missile systems were also visibly damaged.
In Shiraz, active fires and scorched terrain surround military and electronics facilities, indicating intense bombardment. Though no major building collapse is seen at the missile site, the adjacent electronics facility appears to have taken the brunt of the damage.
Another key target was the Shahid Modarres Garrison in Bid Kaneh, southwest of Tehran. Imagery shows several destroyed buildings and dispersed equipment, possibly relocated in an attempt to mask the extent of the destruction. The facility is reportedly involved in ballistic missile and drone production.
At the Natanz nuclear site central to Iran’s uranium enrichment programme new tracks and earth mounds appear to conceal craters caused by Israeli strikes. The head of the UN nuclear watchdog told the BBC that an estimated 15,000 centrifuges may have been damaged or destroyed due to power outages following the attack.
Meanwhile, Israeli strikes continued into Tuesday, killing a senior Iranian commander, according to Israeli authorities. In retaliation, Iran fired multiple missiles toward Israel, with explosions reported over Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Air raid sirens were triggered across several Israeli cities.
With no signs of de-escalation, the conflict between the two long-standing adversaries has entered a dangerous phase, raising concerns of a wider regional fallout.
