Goa CM to propose Dr Ramani's name for Padma Vibhushan

Ponda, Sep 30: Chief minister Pramod Sawant claimed to propose neurosurgeon, Dr Premanand Ramani's name for the prestigious Padma Vibhushan. This announcement came earlier in the week when the government praised Ramani for his contribution to society.

CM Sawant had made the announcement at a ceremony held to honour Ramani with Gomant Vibhushan award 2018-19.

For more than 45 years, Ramani has been involved in philanthropic activities around the country. He has been working tirelessly through his organisation - Smt Ahilayabai Ramani Pratishtan and P S Ramani Medical Foundation.

On receiving the Gomant Vibhushan award, Ramani expressed his gratitude and dedicated it to people of Goa.
