Mumbai, Jun 15: A motorist has been detained after he allegedly attempted to run over a petrol pump supervisor, dragging him for a short distance on the bonnet of his car before crashing into other vehicles at a fuel station in Borivali East late on Sunday night.
Officials from the Kasturba Marg Police Station have taken the accused into custody and sent him for a medical examination to determine whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a dispute involving the accused's brother, who had reportedly been dismissed from his job at the petrol pump last month.

Police said the motorist arrived at the petrol station and got into an argument with the supervisor over the termination. The verbal altercation soon escalated, following which the accused allegedly drove his car towards the supervisor in an attempt to hit him.
In an effort to protect himself, the supervisor held onto the vehicle's bonnet but was dragged for a short distance as the car moved forward.
During the incident, the accused also rammed into several other vehicles parked inside the petrol pump premises, causing panic among employees and customers.
After receiving information about the incident, personnel from Kasturba Marg Police Station rushed to the spot and detained the motorist.
Police said an FIR is being registered against him, and further legal action will be taken after completing the investigation.
Officials added that the medical examination report will determine whether the accused was intoxicated during the incident.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that the accused is employed at an automobile showroom and that the car involved in the incident belongs to him.
Police are continuing their investigation to establish the full sequence of events and assess the extent of damage caused during the episode.
