Bengaluru, May 13: Kannada actor and producer Dileep Raj passed away after reportedly suffering a heart attack in the early hours of Wednesday, sending shockwaves across the Kannada film and television industry. He was 48.
According to reports, Dileep Raj suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to Apollo Hospital in Kumaraswamy Layout, where doctors attempted to revive him. However, he could not be saved.

News of his sudden demise left colleagues, friends, and fans in grief, with several members of the Kannada television and film fraternity gathering at the hospital after hearing of his passing.
Born on September 2, 1978, Dileep Raj built a successful career across television, cinema, theatre, dubbing, direction, and production. Over the years, he earned recognition as one of Kannada entertainment’s versatile performers due to his contributions both on-screen and behind the scenes.
Before gaining popularity in films and television, Dileep Raj was actively associated with theatre and worked with noted theatre groups such as Nataranga and Drishti, where he honed his acting skills and stage presence.
Reports said his entry into television came after actress Nanditha introduced him to the medium during his theatre days. He later became a familiar face in Kannada households through various television serials and films.
Apart from acting, he also worked as a producer, director, dubbing artist, and theatre performer during different phases of his career, earning admiration and respect within the industry.
