NEET leak row: DK NSUI chief seeks Pradhan’s resignation

Media Release

Mangaluru, May 12: Suhan Alva, President of the Dakshina Kannada District NSUI Committee, has strongly condemned the Central Government’s decision to cancel NEET-UG 2026 following allegations of a question paper leak.

Nearly 22.5 lac students appeared for the examination with hopes and dreams for their future. However, serious lapses such as the paper leak have pushed lakhs of students and parents into anxiety and uncertainty.

“For months, the government claimed that the examination process was ‘transparent’ and ‘secure’. Today, the system itself has exposed the failure of the administration,” he stated.

He said lacs of students studied day and night with honesty and dedication, while the authorities failed in their basic responsibility of ensuring a fair examination. “For middle-class and poor families, NEET is not just an exam — it represents years of sacrifice, hope, and hard work,” he added.

Suhan Alva further questioned who would take responsibility for the collapse of the examination system and the mental trauma caused to students and parents across the country. He stated that repeated leaks and controversies surrounding national examinations reflect the inefficiency and negligence of the Central Government.

Demanding accountability, he urged union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign immediately.

“A fair and impartial investigation must be conducted to identify those responsible for this scam, failing which we will launch protests across the district,” he warned.

“How can those who cannot even prevent a question paper leak be fit to govern the country?” he questioned.

He added that India’s youth need opportunity, not uncertainty, and that accountability can no longer be avoided.
