Recipes - Bread Fruit Buthi (Diu Gujje)
1 bowl bread fruit pieces (Diu Gujje)
¾ cup grated coconut
1 tbsp. coriander
Small ball of tamarind
6-8 short red chillies
¼ cup oil
2 medium onions ( minced)
Salt as per taste.
Heat little oil and fry chillies and set aside. In the same pan add bread fruit pieces. Sprinkle little salt and saute for two minutes and set aside.
Grind coconut, coriander, chillies and tamarind coarsely. Heat a pan with oil and fry minced onions golden brown in colour. Add bread fruit and little water. Cook until soft. Add coconut paste and salt as per taste and bring to a boil.
Serve as an accompaniment with rice and curry of your choice.
