Recipes - Butter Chicken


250 gms. boneless chicken (whole breast)
½ tsp. chilly powder
½ tsp. pepper powder
¼ tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. garam masala powder
Salt to taste

For Gravy:

3- 4 tbsp. butter
50 gms. cashew nuts
200 gms. tomatoes
3 tbsp. tomato ketchup
1 tbsp. kasurimethi
½ tsp. chilly powder
½ tsp. chilly sauce
50 ml. fresh cream
Salt as per taste


Mix the dry powders and marinate chicken along with salt for 1-2 hours. Then cook in little water on medium flame until done. Later hold the chicken pieces on direct flame and burn a little. Once cooled L slice or shred into thin pieces.

Cook tomatoes in water, peel and then puree them. Powder the cashew nuts. Slightly warm the kasurimethi and crush with fingers.

Heat butter, add powdered cashew nuts and fry till light golden. Add Tomato puree, ketchup and chilli sauce. Saute until tanginess of the tomato fades. Add shredded chicken and kasuriethi. After a good boil add fresh cream. Stir well.

Serve sprinkling kasurimethi and few drops of fresh cream. Could be served with rotis or pulav of your choice.
