Recipes - Mackerel / Bangude Phanna Upkari

Ingredients:

2 big mackerels
6-7 long red chillies
2 short red chillies
2 seeds tamarind
½ tsp. turmeric powder
2 medium onions (minced)
2 -3 tbsp. coconut oil
Salt as per taste.

Method:

Clean, wash and cut fish in to pieces. Smear turmeric powder and set aside for 15 mts. Later rinse the fish.

Roast chillies with little oil. Grind chillies and tamarind into a very fine paste. Heat oil and fry onions until light brown. Add masala and fry until oil floats. Keep fish pieces over masala. Cover and cook on slow flame for about 5 mts. Turn the pieces and cook until one more good boil. Serve after 2 hours with steamed rice.
