La Pegasus Polo renews partnership with Argentine Open

Mumbai, Aug 22 (IANS): Mumbai-based La Pegasus Polo, one of Indias premier upcoming polo establishments, on Thursday announced the renewal of its partnership with the Campeonato Argentino Abierto de Polo (Argentine Open Polo Championships 2019), widely considered the worlds greatest polo tournament.

Now in its 126th edition, the Argentine Open is played at the famous Campo Argentino de Polo of Palermo in Buenos Aires every year since 1893. La Pegasus Polo will be partnering with the Argentine Polo Association as one of the tournament sponsors.

The tournament, a highest level 40-goal Masters designated event, is slated to be played between November 16 and December 14, 2019, with the legendary Adolfo Cambiaso -- the world's top ranked polo player -- owned and led La Dolfina looking to win a record 13th title and seventh on the bounce.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Jindal, patron and founder, La Pegasus Polo, said: "La Pegasus Polo continues in its endeavour to popularise the game and its players all across the globe. It is important that tournaments like the Campeonato Argentino are spread to more corners of the world so as to build aspirations among the youth and make them aware about the quality of Argentinian polo."

"We have been doing our level best to popularise the sport in India, the land of its origin, and a renewed partnership with the Argentine Open only reflects their trust in us and India as a market for expanding this beautiful game where it all began. We hope that we can continue with the same for many years to come. We will have more good news coming soon," he added.
