In Dubai bringing drugs is criminal act but taking Gold or limited currency is not illegal activity so taking gold to the destination is solely receiving country. i.e. you can't take any food items like masalas is not allowed in New Zealand but Indian airport will not check the passenger departing from Indian airport about carrying any Masala items by any Indian passenger travelling to New Zealand.

@Vincent R.Bangalore, katapady, takingout gold from Dubai is not a problem or to complain for them.Instead it is like export. They profit from selling. It is prohibited without declaring to customs from incoming authorities.our gold will not be sold and loss to our country.India doesnt get any taxes if not sold. All will bring from outside. As it happened with areca nuts from Indonesian.

Presently, Indian origin passengers or those holding valid Indian passports are eligible to import gold provided they are coming to India after a stay abroad of at least six months. Other than the duty free allowed ornaments, such passenger can bring one kg of gold in bars or coins by paying duty. I think, this man may be a carrier for some one else. Anyway, he is from Kasar gold.
