Bangalore: Wheelie Stunt Thrills, but Kills

Bangalore, Feb 10 (DHNS): A 23-year-old man went out in the wee hours of Thursday with his close friend for a bike ride, only to be brought home dead.

David John, the only child of  hearing impaired parents, was so passionate about ‘wheelies and toeing’ that he ignored the traffic police signboards reading ‘Speed thrills, but kills’.

According to Ashoknagar police, John’s parents Albert John and Silius  were separated a few years ago and their son was the bonding factor between them.

The young man, who was struggling to complete his studies, was passionate about taking part in adventurous activities.

Early Thursday morning, John left his Austin Town hresidence on his bike along with Praveen Raj.On the Ejipura Road, he did some wheelies and then vroomed off towards Koramangala. At Srinivasapura Junction, he lost control over the bike and rammed the two-wheeler into a car parked along the road.

John died on the spot and Praveen, who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries. Local residents and passersby informed the police, who rushed to the spot and took them to a hospital where John was declared brought dead.

Praveen is undergoing treatment. “Praveen has injuries all over his body and has broken his hands. He was in an unconscious state when he was brought to hospital,” said a policeman. Praveen is doing BCom through distance education.

A pall of gloom descended on Austin Town where people thronged his house to console his parents.

    Dear Sir,

You are 60 years and you need to be role model for us. Don't pass obscene and indecent comments. There was no need to compare bikes with woman. This shows how you respect our sisters and mothers. They are also women...

Dar Suzanne,Bangalore..God Bless your family. We can see very few people like your husband. It reminds me of an incident in Dubai cricket stadium where I went to watch Pak-Lanka match.A small Pakistani boy was standing in one corner and started crying. He lost his parents in the crowd. Finally one Sri Lankan couple took boy and went to officials and waited for 20 minutes till security gurads managed to find his father.

Here the thrill has killed the one who wanted to get thrilled by acting irresponsible on public roads where his thrills would have cost the lives of other innocent people travelling on the road. Srtict action is needed to stop these thrilling killers.

David John may your soul rest in eternal peace and give comfort to the parents and host of family and friends. I do not know how the parents must be feeling at loosing their only son. This is a lesson for other bike riders who like wheelie stunts. I hope Praveen is out of danger and wish him a speedy recovery. The hospital authorities of St.John's Hospital should be sued for refusing treatment to a severely injured accident victim. Even the police should be taken to task for arriving at the hospital two hours after the accident. It was good that Suzanne's husband took Praveen to the hospital as soon as the accident took place.

This happened right outside my house. My husband took Praveen to the hospital and the police came only two hours after they were informed. St. John's hospital refused treatment because they wanted a guarantee of payment even in such an emergency. Seriously, we are shocked by such a response from medical professionals. Isn't a human life worth more than a few thousand rupees? Also, people need to be made aware that it is okay to help accident victims. It was on the news. Here's the link: http://www.dnaindia.com/mumbai/report_help-accident-victims-cops-will-behave_1635606 Please share the awareness!!

Parents Beware.Do not spoil your kids and learn to love and care.Spend time to educate the child in SOUL matters and good things of life...Or we will lose them. I blame the parents. parents are so busy chit chatting, watching TV seriels and gossip, even extra romance! How do you think the children should behave ? Are we leading them for a better future? what sample are we ? By the fruit of the tree we can judge the Tree.Feel sorry for that Kid

    Dear all!
Sometimes it is better to be alive for a few years and enjoy the fun life has to offer than live to be in your 90's.
I am 60 years old, I own a Harley Davidson hot rod, a Kawasaki Ninja 250DR, A Triumph tiger twin 500cc 1953 and a BMW R90 shaft driven motorbike, 1953 model.
I enjoy my life. There is a thrill in riding motorcycles. They are much better than a woman.
Anyway, my condolences to the young soul of David John.
May his young soul rest in peace.
    Walter
