Puttur, Mar 12: A series of accidents occurred at Santyar on the Mani–Mysuru National Highway on Thursday evening after a speeding car rammed into seven different vehicles before fleeing the spot.
The incident resulted in significant damage to six motorcycles and one car. According to eyewitnesses, the car sped away toward the Panaje road immediately after the collisions.
There are strong suspicions among the locals that a minor was behind the wheel at the time of the incident. Furthermore, witnesses have raised concerns that the driver may have been under the influence of ganja, given the erratic nature of the driving.
The local police are currently investigating the matter and are on the lookout for the vehicle and the driver involved in the hit-and-run.
