Mangaluru, Jul 31: The Mangaluru City police have arrested one more suspect for the inquiry in connection with the murder of Fazil (23), a resident of Mangalpete.

City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar has confirmed the arrest of the car owner.

According to highly placed sources, the car owner is identified as Ajith Crasta. Meanwhile sources have disclosed that apart from Ajith, four more accused have been arrested and another, the prime accused is still on the run.

After questioning him he will be produced before the magistrate and for further inquiry, he will be taken back to police custody, he added.

"On the basis of CCTV cameras, and other leads we had seized eight cars of the same company and colour. Later, the owners of the cars were subjected to inquiry. In the interrogation, we came to know of the owner who had given the car to one of the accused in the case. After further inquiry, he will be produced before the magistrate. To know more about this case, we will seek for his police custody. On the information given by the car owner, our investigation teams are heading to detain the other suspects", Shashi Kumar said.

It is said that the car owner had a good relationship with one of the accused in the case. In the past too he had taken his car, the commissioner added.

It may be recalled that Fazil was hacked to death in Surathkal on July 28 night. The miscreants who came in an Eon car have executed the crime.
So far the police have detained 21 people for the inquiry in connection to the murder.

According to sources the police department has gathered proper leads to crack the case.

Dear Praveen shetty, Mangalore I am thinking that you were not trying to be sarcastic but being ignorant. FYI, if Ajit Crasta indeed indulged in biz using that car he bought for exclusive personal use, then he cannot rent it and claim innocence. He should have got yellow number plate (commercial use) for that purpose. For this offense itself he is liable to be prosecuted. It is completely his mistake of trying to simultaneously cheat Government and himself. Don't do the crime, if you cant do the time...simple.

Whoever involved in this murder whether Ajith (indirectly), we condemn this act of supporting the criminals!! Though, Ajith directly didnt involve in murdering, he supported the murderers. He fulfilled a saying this way ... "a friend in need is friend indeed" !! Why people involve in such friendships? Looking forward to know who are the real people dealt directly in this heinous act ?

Cynthia..so you have given the verdict that Ajith is involved in murder. What rubbish? Anyone taking car will not say that I am going to murder one guy so give your car. If someone known to me asks me for my car, I will also give. Don't pass any judgement here. Investigation is going on. Let them do their work.

You said if a person known to you, asks your car...you will give. Known person means you will definitely know, what type of a person he is ! This is what happened with Ajith....He cannot stay without giving the car because he knew him very closely. He gave the car and hence he was arrested. Both ways, he landed in problems. Thats why i said, why to involve in such friendships? Will you keep such relationships? Tak....takk

Cynthia DK..wonderful. What if the person who lent the car is renting the cars? Anything written on the forehead of the person who takes the car on rent as "Terrorist"? Simply don't jump to conclusions. Let the police do their job. Don't act like a media bully who pronounce judgements like chip Ranganna (Ranganath of Public TV).
