Mangaluru: Deceased Fazil did not belong to any group, probe on – Police commissioner

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jul 29: Regarding the brutal murder at Surathkal, police commissioner N Shahsi Kumar said that the investigation is progress and a clear statement will be given after the probe is completed.

Addressing media on Friday July 29, he said, “Two teams have been formed to handle the probe that is collecting information about the murder. Our investigation is not yet reached to a stage where we can reveal the identity of the killers and the motive behind the murder. We are interrogating more than 14 people as a part of investigation.

“At present, Sec 144 is enforced under the commissionerate limits. Once we get concrete evidence, we will communicate the same.

“Twelve people have been detained since yesterday post Suratkal incident as they were found unnecessarily going around suspiciously when Sec 144 was in place.

“We have already spoken to the deceased’s family members and friends. It is very clear that Fazil was not a member of any association or party. He did not have any criminal background. He was working as daily wage labourer.

“I am requesting people to behave responsibly on social media. Do not forward any rumour texts and do not believe in rumours. Do not post false and fabricated information through fake IDs and forward it on social media,” he said.

what is meant by "Deceased Fazil did not belong to any group". Groupism in India? We all supposed to be one group "Indians". Politics taking major role in this. I do not think it is mistaken identity murder.

Sad. Law and order situation is very bad in karnataka. If this trend continues many will stop doing business in Karnataka. When international businesses stops that is the time people learn a great lesson. Neither government doing anything to stop or Civil servants workers function properly to prevent crime. Ultimately who’s is I charge of overseeing these crimes? Murder over murder and attacks on youth , woman, worshipping places by religious fanatics which is required to be stoped to have peace and safety for citizens to function freely. I feel ashamed to say Mangalorean anymore where we loved Mangalore so much . Even my dad who is 95 yrs moved from foreign land to Mangalore because so dear to him.

Looking at the CCTV footage, it looks like he was specifically the target and if talk of the town is to be believed, it does not appear to be communal or political issue but related to Love and consequent hate thereof. Even if it is true, this killing is unjustified.
