Mangaluru: Fazil murder in Surathkal – 21 taken into custody

Mangaluru, Jul 30: Police have made vital inroads into the murder of Mohammed Fazil, resident of Mangalpete in Suratkal.

ADGP Alok Kumar is personally taken charge of the investigation and has expressed confidence of arresting the killers soon. Police have already taken into custody 21 people from Suratkal, Bajpe, Panambur and Mulki police station limits for inquiry.

Five teams are formed to nab the assailant. Hariram Shankar, who was the former DCP crime of Dakshina Kannada, presently serving as SP of Hassan, is also called for assistance. Information with regards to the mobile calls during the time of murder on the night of Thursday is being gathered.

Investigation is also being done about anyone having enmity over Fazil for any specific reason. All nearby CCTV footages are gathered by the cops. Police sources said that certain anti-social elements are involved in the killing.

    I was very intrigued with his father's version on the TV. He was very polite, did not do any job and was always at home at the age of 24, did not have any enmity, he was never in love with any female friend and went to the spot on the fateful day because his friend called him to meet there. The attackers did not attack his friend and the victim also was not surprised that he is target of the attack and was on the run even before his friend could react. I now don't know what to make of his father's take. I hope the truth comes out as is, and not some whitewashed truth.

    All those arrested are members of Hindu activists group and some jobless rowdies and BD talibans. Police must act swiftly and publish the names and other deails. BJP Bommai must be exposed and if needed dissolve the house until forthcoming assembly elections

    All this happenning due to sajjige bajil government...for power karnataka bjp leaders took other party leaders whose ideology is defferent. Now CM cannot take strict decisions to contain the crimes. Like yogi, crimes should be dealt with ,without looking at religion. Rules should be same, unbiased.

    On the face of it and as per local murmurs it looks like a personal enmity and has nothing to do with other killings... However point to be noted here is young men are becoming more and more ferocious with no fear of law or future life... May be our prosecution process is loose that they get confidence of slipping away from maximum punishment... Law will take its own course and politicians will only find ways to increase their mileage... It is for us the common people and communities to come together and re-establish the brotherhood and solidarity which is rapidly loosing over the last 4 years...

    True.....Police very well know who are the killers...? Because, car and 2 men's were visible in the cc tv footage. From the car no. All the details can easily obtainable as every one knows even a school going child. Hands of the police are tightened by other superficial forces. They cannot move one step forward or backward without the green signal from the big heads. If they reveal, situation will be tensed....And hence curfew/section 144/closure of wine shops...etc. So, today raji sandhana meeting is organized between the religious leaders/political leaders/police officers. Because of this political goons, ordinary people are murdered and suffered including our students/elders/daily wagers.....Very disgusting situation.....Theres a beautiful you tube video published by daiji...an interview conducted by Shri Chetan Shetty with Shri Bolangadi, who was an experienced journalist....Though its quite big...its very informative.....

    Karnataka is becoming another UP. Brutual murder of Fazil is carried out by none other than sanghis who have blessings from ruling party. These goondas are taking law in their hands and none is being arrested. Recently these goondas attahced a pub where students were celebrating birthday party. These goondas mandled the students and staff of hotel. There is a news that the goondas took away mobiles and cash. Killers of Fazil should be arrested immediately and capial punishment should be awarded to them. As Bommai is saying he will follow bulldozer policy of Yogi, let the homes of the killers be demolished and their assets be seized and given to the family of Fazil. CM should also announce ex-gratia payment of Rs 25 lakhs to family of Fazil as he did in case of Praveen. CM should not show partiality.

    Dear Santosh, no students were manhandled in the incident of last week's pub attack...No mobiles and cash were snatched. Before the group came, hotel staff asked them to leave the pub. When they approached the pub, all the students cleared their bill and just going out. The group which had come just said the students to GO/LEAVE THE PREMISES. This information is through very reliable sources. Only sad part is media came alongwith the group. They clicked the photos as students vacating the premises...Let's not spread wrong information which is far from truth and reality. That too, at this crucial moment, lets keep quiet and not issue any statement unless otherwise you know it aptly.....

    Taking into custody is ok. But action should be taken without considering the caste or religion in all cases. At least Police and courts must keep away from favoring their own religions as per the Constitution of India. Jai Karnataka.
