July 5: Dakshina Kannada reports 17 Covid cases, Udupi adds 3 infections


Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 5: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday July 5, reported 17 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 3 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,886 out of which 77 are currently active. Three patients were discharged on July 4.

No deaths were reported on July 4. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,852.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

Positivity rate is at 2.44 percent.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,05,880 as fine in 96,212 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As many as three coronavirus cases were reported on July 5. The total active Covid cases are 24.

A total of 10,88,723 people have received the first dose of vaccination and 10,77,881 have received both doses and 1,03,8279 people have received booster dose.

Udupi taluk reported three cases. 4 patients were discharged on July 4.
