Kundapur, Jul 5: There has been sea erosion in Kundapur as the monsoon became intense. Though there was wide sea erosion at Maravanthe during the last one week, the government, elected representatives or the concerned department have not taken action. The people who are disappointed by the indifference are trying their best on their own to prevent the erosion.

Huge waves are beating the shore at the out port and have acquired a large area. The waves are coming further and as there are no efforts to prevent them, there is a danger of the connecting road getting washed away.

People are keeping trees and sacks across the waves trying to prevent the impact. People are working hard risking their lives.

Sea erosion has been a natural phenomenon here every year. The victims have not received any compensation in this connection so far. The matter has become a subject of daily anxiety.
