Mumbai: Mumbai University holds special lecture on the need of translation

Mumbai, Nov 30: The Kannada department of Mumbai university held a special lecture at Ranade Bhavan, Kalina Campus, Santacruz east about the need and importance of translation. Scientist, author, translator and Marathi writer Professor G C Kulkarni spoke on the occasion.

“Impressive work is being created in Pune as the friendly bridge between Kannada and Marathi. Professor Kulkarni has translated to Marathi Karnataka Bharatha book by poet Kumaravyasa. Professor Kulkarni has translated more than 80 English books to Marathi,” said Mumbai university Kannada department head Dr G N Upadhya in his introduction.

 

Pratibha Rao and Anita P Poojary introduced the guests. Durgappa U Kotiyavar compered the programme. Shashikala Hegde rendered a vote of thanks.
