Mangaluru: Extend free dialysis facility in private hospitals up to next six months – SDPI

Mangaluru, Mar 20: Athaullaha Jokatte, president of SDPI Dakshina Kannada district, on Saturday March 20, said that the BJP-led state government has revoked the order given to conduct free dialysis for the poor in private hospitals. The decision of the government has put the poor into trouble, he said.

He was speaking in a press meet here at the SDPI office.

"In the district Wenlock, there are only 12 dialysis units, of which 11 are in working condition and it will be busy. Several patients have to wait in the queue for several hours for dialysis. Hence, the government should extend free dialysis facilities in private hospitals at least for the next six months or provide additional dialysis units to the district hospital and provide 8 dialysis equipment to the taluk hospitals. The dialysis facilities should be provided in all community health centers,” he said.

Iqbal IMR vice president, SDPI, Anwar Sadath Bajathoor, secretary, and Jamal Jokatte, secretary were present during the press meet.
