Mangaluru's Snehith Surendran crowned winner of Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season 1 in a grand finale

Udupi, Jan 1: Snehith Surendran from Mangaluru was crowned as title winner of Bharath Co-operative Bank Mumbai Limited Presents Daijiworld Swara Sagara hosted by Daijiworld Udupi studio under the banner of Kishoo Enterprises.

After a year-long musical journey filled with passion, dedication, and fierce competition, the first season of Daijiworld Swara Sagara concluded with a spectacular grand finale held at St Mary’s English Medium School, Udupi. Emerging as the shining star of the evening, Snehith Surendran was crowned the winner of Season 1, marking a memorable milestone in his musical journey.

Yashas Rao was declared the runner-up, while Bhavyashree Achar bagged the award for the "Best Performer of the Day" presented by Rotaract Club Brahmavar. The Tanishq Jewellery Udupi - Public Choice singer was bagged by Melona Clisha Saldanha. The top five finalists of the season were Mohit Bhat, Bhavyashree Achar, Karthik, Madhura Shenoy and Melona Clisha Saldanha.

Addressing the gathering, renowned playback singer and Golden Book of World Records holder Yashwanth M G, who served as the main judge for the event, said, “I thank all sponsors and the crew who made this one-year programme successful, including the parents and participants. Kishoo Barkur and Kevin Rodrigues have made this event meaningful in every episode, conducting nine successful rounds. Music doesn’t come instantly, it takes years of practice. I wish all the singers a bright future ahead. It’s wonderful that this journey began right here, where over 1,000 students study, and now we’re concluding with a grand finale.”

Joseph Menezes, entrepreneur and philanthropist, said, “I watch many reality shows, and Daijiworld truly encourages the younger generation by providing a platform to showcase their talents. We feel proud to see such remarkable talent on this stage, including the musicians and all the participants.”

Former minister Pramodh Madhwaraj, who also visited during the day, said, “Daijiworld is the pride of our coastal region, as it continues to encourage and support the youth here. With around 200 participants, each one is a winner in their own way. Everyone gave their best, and the finest have made it to the finals. I wish the event great success and extend my best wishes to all.”

The evening’s musical charm was enhanced by a team of talented live instrumentalists: Arun Havanje on keyboard, Vaman Bailoor on rhythm pad, Prajwal Acharya Udupi on tabla and dholak, Vincent Mangalore on lead guitar, and Ankith Thomas Calcutta on bass guitar. Their electrifying performances created a captivating ambience throughout the event.

The grand finale was graced by several distinguished guests, including Fr Charles Menezes - correspondent, St Mary’s Institutions, Udupi, Shreevatsa Balla - assistant general manager, Harsha, Walter Nandlike - managing director, Daijiworld Media,: Melwyn Rodrigues - director – operations, Daijiworld Media; Alexis Castelino - managing director, Daijiworld Television, Fr Denis D’Sa - PRO, Diocese of Udupi, Fr Vijay D’Souza - principal, St Mary’s English Medium School, Udupi, Joseph Menezes – entrepreneur, Sandesh Pai - area business head, Tanishq Jewellery, Yashwanth MG - main judge, Sangetha Balachandra and Dolphy Mascarenhas, other judges of the grand finale, along with Kishoo Barkur, managing director, Kishoo Enterprises, Kevin Rodrigues, manager operations, Daijiworld Udupi were present.

The day-long grand finale included three rounds of performance by the seven finalists. The first round included Sangeetha Darbar solo performance followed by duet performance and fast beat, a rocking performance round accompanied by dance troupe. Team Darpana Udupi troupe accompanied the finalists with their amazing dance performance.

As part of the awards, Snehith Surendran received a cash prize of Rs 40,000 along with a trophy and certificate. Runner-up Yashas Rao received Rs 25,000, while Public Choice Award winner Melona Clisha Saldanha received Rs 15,000. All top five finalists were rewarded with Rs 5,000 each, along with trophies and certificates.

The entire season was supported by Bharath Co Operative Bank Mumbai Ltd., Abharan Jewellery, Udupi, Pinky Fashions, Family Fashions, Rodrigues Cateress, Sasthan, at the grand finale N N Infra Structure Developers, Tanishq Jewellery, Udupi, Harsha, Kirthi Constructions, Khain Properties, Jaes Wheel masters, Hot Chix Restaurant, National Equipments, venue supported by St. Marys English Medium School, Udupi were supported the season.

Alwyn Andrade, anchor of Daijiworld Swara Sagara hosted the show. Ace anchor Suchith Kotian compered the valedictory ceremony.
