Byndoor: Two critically injured in auto-car collision on NH-66 near Uppunda

Byndoor, Jan 1: A serious road accident on NH 66 near Uppunda on Wednesday, December 31 left two people critically injured and another with minor injuries when an autorickshaw collided with a car.

The critically injured, Mahabala and Mohan, were admitted to Kundapu Hospital, while Narayana was taken to Kundapura Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said the auto was travelling from Shalebagilu to Nagoori when a car, coming from Bhatkal towards Kundapura, struck it near the Uppunda petrol bunk. The impact threw all three occupants of the auto onto the road,” a local resident said.

The auto was completely mangled in the collision, while the car sustained partial damage, police reported.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
