Bantwal: Section 144 in Farangipet as Precautionary Measure

Bantwal, Dec 8: Section 144 has been imposed at Farangipet near here following a minor blast at Sevanjali Trust premises on Thursday December 7 evening.


It was a minor blast that rocked the area for a while.  Though sources said that the blast was aimed at stirring up communal feelings, localites did not heed to any rumours and continued with normal life.

Bantwal rural police arrived at the spot soon along with Puttur ASP Dr Harsha, Bantwal CI Ganapathy and district SP B Dayanand.  Adequate security measures have been undertaken.  District-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty too visited the place.



Meanwhile Section 144 has been imposed at Farangipet area from 6 am to 6 pm as precautionary measure. 

The country-made bomb was thrown into Sevanjali Trust building through the window by some miscreants.  No casualties were reported since no was in the room during the blast.  However, some sources even said that 6 persons have been taken to custody in this connection.  However, their names have yet been released.
