Kasargod: Bank security guard fatally stabbed following cricket match dispute

Kasargod, May 18: A bank security guard was fatally stabbed in Marpanadka under the limits of Badiadka police station.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh (42), a security guard at Kumbdaje Seva Cooperative Bank. The incident occurred around 9.30 pm on Sunday.

Badiadka police have registered a case against Kiran and Akhilesh in connection with the incident.

According to reports, a verbal altercation during a cricket match held at the Kumbdaje gram panchayat ground on Sunday evening is believed to have led to the murder. The argument reportedly escalated, following which the accused stabbed Suresh with a knife.

Though the seriously injured Suresh was rushed to a hospital, he could not be saved.

The deceased was a resident of Bedrakoodlu in Marpanadka.

Police are conducting further investigation into the case.
