Mysuru, Jan 10: With less than two months remaining for the II PUC examinations, alleged leaks of preparatory examination question papers have triggered anxiety among students, parents and teachers across the state.
II PUC students from private colleges in Mysuru have alleged that question papers for preparatory exams were circulated on WhatsApp well in advance, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the examination process.
According to students, the Mathematics question paper was allegedly leaked on the morning of the exam, while Kannada and English papers were said to have been circulated nearly 24 hours before the tests were conducted.

“Almost everyone had access to the paper. While the Mathematics question paper was leaked early in the morning of the exam day, Kannada and English papers were available much earlier,” a student said, claiming that the same set of questions appeared in the actual examinations.
Students further alleged that the issue was not confined to a single college or a handful of individuals, but appeared to be widespread.
Senior officials of the Department of Pre-University Education suspect that the leak may have originated in Shivamogga, from where the question papers were allegedly shared digitally across the state.
Expressing concern, the principal of a reputed private college said preparatory examinations serve as a crucial rehearsal for the final board exams. “If discipline collapses at this stage, it sends a dangerous signal not only to students but also about the seriousness of the system,” the principal remarked.
Meanwhile, a government PU college lecturer sought to reassure students and parents, stating that there is “zero percent possibility” of final board examination question papers being leaked. “Unlike preparatory exams, the final question papers are handled under strict supervision of the Treasury Department and follow a highly secure protocol,” the lecturer said.
The alleged leak has once again highlighted the need for tighter monitoring and accountability during preparatory examinations to maintain fairness and confidence in the evaluation system.
