Moodbidri, Jul 10: On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, the Shri Digambara Jain Math at Jain Kashi Moodbidri Mahakshetra marked the beginning of the Chaturmasya period with grand religious ceremonies and a national workshop on the conservation of Tada Ole.
The event, held under the divine presence of Acharya Gulab Bhushan Maharaj and Swastishri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka, drew a large gathering of devotees and community leaders.
The morning began with sacred Abhisheka Puja, followed by the installation of Kalashas by devoted followers at the Math and Shanti Bhavan, culminating in the light Siddha Chakra Vidhan Puja. Acharya Gulab Bhushan Maharaj blessed the attendees, underscoring that the grace of the Guru is the highest form of penance and knowledge that refines one into a cultured and spiritually enlightened individual.

Presiding over the event, Bharat Bhushan Jagadguru Swastishri Dr. Bhattaraka Charukeerthi Panditacharya Maha Swamiji delivered powerful chanting of the four Jain Vedas. He highlighted the vital role of Gautama Ganadhara and shared profound insights on the sacred “Omkar” sound, describing it as a divine vibration that leads devotees towards liberation from worldly bondage. Dr. Bhattaraka Charukeerthi also emphasised that Guru Purnima is essentially the ‘Day of Knowledge,’ a time to honour spiritual wisdom.
The gathering included notable devotees such as Pratap Chandra (Prabhat Silks), Ajit S., Swarnalata, Dr. Anvita Kuppepadu, Makarand Padival, Tilak Prasad, Sujata Bakkaru, Svayamprabha Ballal, Sampath Beltangadi, Kesari Raviraj, among others, who sought blessings from the Acharyas and Bhattarakas and participated in the Kalasha installations across the Math premises.
Adding vibrancy to the spiritual proceedings, the Dhavalatraya Jain Kashi Trust, in collaboration with Vinayaka Bhat, organised a lively evening “Talamaddale” – a traditional storytelling and musical performance that captivated the audience with its blend of devotional and cultural themes.
This convergence of religious fervour, cultural heritage, and environmental conservation underlines the community’s commitment to preserving both spiritual traditions and natural resources like the Tada Ole, making the Guru Purnima celebrations in Moodbidri a truly memorable and inspiring occasion.
