Mangaluru, July 5: A routine investigation into a recent bus?stone-pelting incident has turned sensational as Mangaluru police reportedly discovered more than 50 explicit videos on the mobile phone of local activist Samith Raj Dharegudde — including one allegedly featuring a prominent coastal politician.
Samith Raj, the coastal district co-ordinator for a right-wing organistion, had been detained by Moodbidri police in connection with pelting stones at a private bus involved in an accident.

As part of the probe, his mobile phone was seized and a court-approved forensic search was ordered to extract data.
“During evidence collection, officers were shocked to find over 50 explicit clips — one featuring a well-known regional political figure,” said a police source involved in the investigation.
An FIR has now been registered at Moodbidri police station, following the raid on the activist’s phone.
Police are proceeding with further verification and analysis, including identifying any safeguards or threats arising from the discovery. The emergence of the video has created a political storm across the coastal belt.
