PM Modi inaugurates Shivamogga airport in poll-bound Karnataka

Shivamogga, Feb 27 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated Shivamogga airport in poll-bound Karnataka.

He also stressed that the double-engine government of BJP in the state and at the Centre are ensuring speedy development.

Addressing the huge gathering, Modi stated that the BJP government has put the state of Karnataka in the mode of development. "Karnataka is on the chariot of development. The double-engine government has increased the speed of development," he said.

"The BJP government is putting in all efforts to take development to villages, tier-2 and tier-3 cities. The party also changed the narrative of development confined only to major cities and surrounding areas," the Prime Minister stated.

There is a mood of air travel in the country. Air India's identity during the rule of Congress was about scams, bad business models. Today Air India is showcasing India's strength to the world, Modi explained. Air India has made a deal to purchase world's biggest flights and today there is debate in the world about the Indian aviation market, he underlined.

"In the coming years, there will be a requirement for thousands of planes in India. Thousands of youth will get employment in this sector. Presently, planes are imported from foreign countries. Soon, they will be manufactured in India and days are not far when Indians travel in made in India flights," the Prime Minister explained.

"Before 2014, only big cities had airports. There was no policy to build airports in smaller cities. Before 2014, only 74 airports were built in seven decades. The BJP government has built 74 new airports in nine years. When airports are built, foreigners with dollars and pounds visit and there would be employment opportunities," Modi said.

He stressed that the BJP government is totally focused towards minimising the difficulties of mothers and sisters. "Building of toilets, providing gas and water through taps to the door steps are designed and executed to serve the purpose. These programmes will get faster," he added.

    What a cheap publicity stunt by Modi. Did he build this airport from his pocket???.?…Modi has to inaugurate this airport and all other projects right during election time. After elections all projects will either collapse or become non functional.

    A honest observation. The number of people gathered in PM Modis roadshow of 10.5 Kms in Belgaum was equivalent to the total of all gathered during BJ Yatra of 3570kms conducted by a Youth Icon recently of an opposition party.

Building of toilets, providing gas and water through taps to the door steps are designed and executed to serve the purpose. Gas price more than doubled just within 2 years. May be these programmes will get faster. You sold Air India and speak about world is admiring India because of Air India. Are Indians so idiots to clap for these promised packed with lies?

    Earlier there was a PM visit to open Terminal 2 in bangalore -- as of now only 2 0r 3 flights in operation - from TERMINAL 2 --- -- question is--- all drama of visits -- last 6 months how many visits -- costs to taxpayer for arranging such visits -- along with election campaign. --

    EXCEPT A FEW AIRPORTS UDAAN SCHEME IS A FLOP -- Many are idle -- no flights or single flight -- cancellations -- ALLIANCE AIR a burden -- Out of the 948 routes awarded in the last five years, only 403 routes connecting 65 unserved and underserved airports are operational as of December 2021. The airports are grand money-making projects -- TAX PAYERS MONEY -- ADANI airports later --

    I didn't see any development in Udupi.. What i see is only Cow politics, Hijab and Hindu Muslim.. We need development, where is our tax money going !!??, Why no industries and IT/BT companies in and around Udupi !?, instead of having so many qualified younger generation !!?? Since BJP came to power no new IT/BT companies are interested to invest in Karnataka.. Keep fighting with religion , Cow and Hijab politics.. but remember , your children will also suffer like many of us.. They have to leave their house and go far for work.. Pls. wake up.. Jai Hind..

    The TATAS bought AIR INDIA - Still Govt of India is holding on to a lot of debt ---of AIR INDIA as per the deal-- Before Selling AIR INDIA -- to TATAS ---GOVT settled about sixty thousand crores of debt -- Later TATAS paid approx. Rs 15000 crores -- fifteen cr -- to buy Air India -- Now the aircraft purchase being hyped -- is by TATAS -- (GOVT cannot take credit -- it is now a private airline. -- -- )--

    It would have been good if Adani inagurated airport, as all know, soon it will be handed over to him. By the way tax payers money is used to build it, tax payers will pay more in addition for helping Adani to get over the crisis his companies are now fighting.

    PM Modi says that before 2014 it was not there that was not there. After 2014 this is there and that is there. But does not say the rise of petrol price after 2014, also how the US dollar as appreciated after 2014 from Rs. 60/- to Rs. 82/-. He never talks about price rise. Only fooling people of the country.

    White elephant....airport ....for a few ....rich and elite ... China has developed a excellent train network which India also needs to emulate ... ...Not such white elephant projects .. High speed rail or speeds upto 150 km per hour which does not need major track and technology like bullet train ... (BULLET TRAIN MUCH HYPED STILL ONGOING ..)... .(..How many flight s ..will take off and land ..from. SHIMOGA...Also bangalore airport in the vicinity.. For persons around Shimoga .. mangalore airport etc ...)... All needed for common man is low cost travel .. And. It is a good train Clean .. effective on time ... Air travel involves travelling to airport which is generally far off .. About 2 hours prior to reach .. security etc ..after landing again airport at a distance .... Trains generally come to city centre .. no security issues .. boarding time ... Airports all costly food etc ...

    There is no proper job and food for the people,, why we need jasmine flower for our JUTTU? all this show will end after election till next election. The government is not providing food grain for APL ration card holders. They are thinking APL card holders are MILLIONAIRES. I am jobless from 3 years after lockdown.The government is not at all concerned about common man's difficulty.
