Mumbai, Sep 20: "The Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishath Maharashtra is dedicated to the progress of its artist members. We have established a welfare fund and need to increase this amount. Members must unite with a noble purpose and cooperate in implementing this. The Parishath has responded to the medical, educational, and other necessities of distressed artists and their families brought to our notice. The primary goal of this Parishath is the total welfare of artists," said Dr Surendrakumar Hegde, president of Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishath Maharashtra (Regd).
He was delivering the presidential address at the 18th annual general body meeting of the Parishath, held on Saturday evening at the Sri Visvesha Tirtha Auditorium of Pejawara Math, Santacruz East.









Dr Hegde further stated, "The long-awaited directory of Kannadiga artists, 'Kalavidara Kaipidi,' has been printed and released. However, hundreds of registered artists have yet to collect their copies. Members should contact us immediately to obtain them. Lacs of rupees collected with great effort have been spent on its printing; let that effort not go in vain. Alongside preserving art and artists, the Parishath is motivated to encourage and inspire young talent, provide guidance on human values, and effectively address current societal issues through the medium of art."
The meeting commenced with Parishath advisor K K Shetty lighting the lamp. Dignitaries present on the dais included vice presidents Kamalaksha G Saraf and CA Srinivas P Saphalya, joint secretary Chandravati Devadiga, joint treasurer N Prithviraj Mundkur, women’s wing chairperson Amitha Jatin, as well as senior artists Shankar Naik Ellare, Padmanabha Sasihithlu (Kala Sourabha), Balakrishna Shetty (Abhinaya Mantapa), Balakrishna Shetty Adyapady, and Dr Bharathkumar Polipu.
Executive committee members Padmanabha Sasihithlu, Kusuma Poojary, Ashok Sasihithlu, Juliet Pereira, Vasudeva Marnad, Naveen Shetty Innabaike; special invitees Balakrishna Shetty, Krishnaraj Shetty, Sushila Devadiga, Jagdish Rao; internal auditor Jagdish D Rai; advisors Jayasheela K Suvarna, Dr Bharathkumar Polipu; and members Vijayalakshmi and Shobha Kotian, among others, were present.
Chandravati Devadiga presented the annual report, while N Prithviraj Mundkur presented the accounts for the previous year. The assembly unanimously appointed Jagdish D Rai as the internal auditor and M/s Rao & Ashok Chartered Accountants as the external auditors for the coming year. Members including K K Shetty, Satish N Bangera, Tara Bangera, Balakrishna Shetty Adyapady, Jayasheela K Suvarna, Kamalaksha G Saraf, Srinivas P Saphalya, Bharath Kumar Polipu, and Amitha Jatin offered suggestions for the betterment of the association.
Ku Sannidhi Muralidhar rendered the prayer song. Tribute was paid during the meeting to the recently deceased senior theatre artist and member of the Parishath, Chandraprabha Sudhakara Udyavara. Executive committee member L Muralidhar Hegde welcomed the gathering and delivered the vote of thanks.
