Udupi, Sep 21: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bengaluru has issued a forecast predicting heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds across the three coastal districts for the next three days.

According to the weather report, isolated places in the district will experience heavy downpours with wind speeds reaching 30 to 40 kmph. A generally cloudy atmosphere is expected to prevail across the region.

Reports of moderate to heavy rainfall have emerged from various parts of Udupi district since last night and this morning. The showers were concentrated in intense spells lasting for half an hour to 45 minutes.

In the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on Monday, the district recorded an average rainfall of 4.2 mm. Hebri recorded the highest rainfall at 10.1 mm, followed by Udupi at 8.2 mm, Brahmavar at 6.2 mm, Kaup at 3.7 mm, Karkala at 2.7 mm, Byndoor at 2.2 mm, and Kundapur at 1.6 mm.
