Hyderabad, Nov 7: A 41-year-old American national was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hotel room at Gachibowli in Hyderabad, prompting police to register a case and launch an investigation.

The deceased has been identified as Mitchell Brian Lee, a resident of California, USA. He had arrived in Hyderabad on November 2 along with his business partner for a business trip. The two were staying at the Marriott Executive Apartments located in SLN Terminus, Gachibowli.

According to preliminary information, Lee was staying in Room No. 1218 on the hotel's 12th floor. He reportedly stopped responding to phone calls from the evening of November 4. After repeated attempts to contact him failed, hotel employees became concerned.

Following information from the hotel management, Gachibowli police under the Cyberabad Commissionerate reached the spot, inspected the room and registered a suspicious death case. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and gathering details as part of the investigation.

The exact cause of death has not yet been established. Police said it would be determined based on the post-mortem report and other findings from the investigation. Some reports have mentioned a possible cardiac arrest, but this has not been officially confirmed.
