Udupi: Dr S Janaki National Award 2023 to be conferred on Padma Bhushan K S Chitra

Udupi, Feb 26: The Dr S Janaki National Award 2023 and the Manasmita National Award, instituted by the Kota Manasmita Foundation (R), Geetananda Foundation (R) Manuru, and Yuva Meridian Koteshwara, will be conferred on March 24 at Yuva Meridian Opera Park.

The Dr S Janaki National Award 2023 will be bestowed upon Padma Bhushan awardee K S Chitra, while the Manasmita National Award will be awarded to the "Saint of Medicine" and litterateur Dr C R Chandrashekar.

The Dr S Janaki National Award 2023 carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lac, a citation, and an award, while the Manasmita National Award includes a cash prize of Rs 25,000, a citation, and an award.

A musical night is also planned for March 24, featuring renowned singers and a music band from Karnataka, under the initiative of Aryabhata awardee singer Dr Sathish Poojary.

Dr Prakash Tolar, the director of the Manasmita Foundation, has announced that entry to the program will be free.
