Udupi: 3-year-old girl with machine gun steals attraction at RD parade

Udupi, Jan 26: Three and a half-year-old girl, in army uniform, with a machine gun in hand, stole the show at the Republic Day parade that was held in the city on Tuesday, January 26.

The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated at the Ajjarakad district grounds by the district administration. Minister for fisheries and port S Angara hoisted the flag on the occasion. The young girl was going around as if she was providing security for the whole function.

Mayuri Prabhu is the girl who attracted everyone's attention at the parade. Mayuri's father Raghavendra Prabhu works as a postman at the Udupi post office, her mother Sridevi is a housewife. Mayuri wants to be a policewoman when she grows up. That is why her parents dress her in army uniform when national festivals are celebrated in the district. For Republic Day, Mayuri's parents got her an army uniform.

Mayuri took photos with minister S Angara and DC G Jagadeesha. Both DC and the minister wished the little girl all the best.

    I am sure when she grows up she will join the army and fight the Chinese with real machine guns to reclaim our Ladakh.

    Sure ,girl looks cute with uniform.In her age many children dream many things .like such plays.But as they get older ,it changes many times.wishes remain wishes ,or find their attention to other things.Never mind .Normal development.Sometimes parents should fullfil their wishes to a certain extent which is harmless if possible.God bless her.

    Everything else is ok, uniform and poise etc except giving gun in little girl’s hand. This gives a different image and misguides our young generation.
