Kasargod: Corona checks resumed in Kerala border

Kasargod, Oct 22: At the district level coronavirus core committee held a meeting through video conferencing facility on Wednesday, October 21 which was presided over by district collector, Dr Sajith Babu. The collector decided to resume corona infection checks at the state borders with immediate effect.

The district collector said that in tune with the judgement of Kerala high court these checks will be aimed at stopping spread of the disease. "No one would be stopped at the border, and no barricades will be installed. There will not be any pass system. People coming into this district have to register themselves in Covid-19 Jagratha portal. To ensure that this is done, border checks will be arranged," he explained.

Police, revenue and health officials will conduct the checks at Talapady check post. Checks will also be undertaken in all the 16 roads in the district bordering Karnataka. In addition to the police, forest, fire department and excise officials will discharge duties at these points. The meeting decided to conduct checks all 24 hours of the day, it is learnt.
