Sullia, Jul 16: The Subramanya police have registered a case against a man identified as Mokshit for allegedly raping a minor girl. The incident came to light after the victim's mother filed a complaint, leading to the registration of a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to the police complaint, the 15-year-old victim had gone to her friend's house in Kadaba Enekallu on July 7. While she was at the residence on the afternoon of July 8, the accused, Mokshit, reportedly called her to a location near the house and forcibly subjected her to sexual assault. The accused also allegedly issued death threats to the victim. The survivor returned home on July 9, after which her mother filed a formal complaint with the police.

Based on the complaint, the Subramanya police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under crime number 29/2026. The accused has been booked under Section 65(1) of the BNS, which deals with punishment for rape of a woman under sixteen years of age, and Section 351(2) of the BNS, which pertains to criminal intimidation. Charges have also been filed under Section 4 of the POCSO Act, which prescribes punishment for penetrative sexual assault on a minor.
