12 people to donate plasma for corona treatment at GMC

Panaji, Sep 21: Over 12 people who recovered from coronavirus have volunteered to donate their plasma at Goa Medical College. Of which, three have been scheduled to donate plasma on Monday, September 21. Earlier on September 18, North Goa Collectorate office held screening camp for plasma donor at Miramar of which 12 out of 13 recovered patients were found eligible for donation.

“There is a lot of false information about plasma donation, which is why we held screening camp tp highlight the eligibility process. With the help of their plasma, corona-infected people can be treated," said deputy collector Guru Desai.

 

The entire process takes 45 minutes so we will carry out the process by having the donation of three donors a day, Desai added.

Desai said that the recovered patients can donate their plasma every 15 days. The North Goa Collectorate office has resolved to have tests every Friday so that people willing to donate their plasma can come forward to help those battling the coronavirus. The results of the same will be declared on Mondays.
