Mangaluru, Sep 12: Police have arrested Mahesh Vikram Hegde (45), chief of TV Vikrama, in connection with an objectionable social media post targeting the chief minister.

According to police, Hegde, under the Facebook handle "Post Card," had posted a statement reading, “Honourable Chief Minister, if you dare to send a bulldozer once on the mosque of those who pelted stones on Ganesh procession, such incidents will never recur anywhere in the state next year.”

Following this, a case was registered at Moodbidri police station under Crime No. 143/2025, Section 353(2) of the BNS Act. Moodbidri police, who took up the investigation, arrested him from Bengaluru and produced him before the CJ and KMFC court in Moodbidri on September 12.

The court has remanded him to judicial custody till September 15.
